EPHEMERAL CONFESSIONS – A Study of a Distorted Case

Ephemeral Confessions is a post-cabaret collective that explores performance, cross-dressing, and various forms of queer artistic expression through hybrid stage and musical forms, while critically engaging with social and political reality.

As part of the Queer Zone Festival, Zoja Borovčanin, Marija Balubdžić, Andrej Ostroški, and Vladimir Bjeličić will discuss the process behind their exhibition “Thursday”, presented in 2024 at the Art Gallery of the Cultural Centre of Belgrade, as well as their broader artistic practice and the work of the collective.

Ephemeral Confessions has been active since 2015, when the collective made its debut at the feminist festival BeFem. Since then, they have developed a range of performative, musical, and audiovisual projects, presented their work on various artistic stages, and collaborated with protagonists of the local art and queer scene.

There will probably be little discussion of meaning, but we deeply believe that this content has healing powers.
